We are passionate about supporting the creative micro businesses of the Maasai Women we work with in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Our handcrafted Maasai ZIPPY bags have been produced to enable you to invest directly into the handcrafts of the Maasai Women we partner with.
Our Maasai Zippy Bags are made from a vibrant, traditional Maasai Shuka - the cloth worn by both Maasai men and Women. Our Maasai Shuka are acrylic, woven in Arusha Tanzania and directly traded from our sister fabric store in Dar es Salaam Tanzania. Inside the Maasai Zippy Bag it is lined with a lush linen/cotton.
The beaded ornament has been made by our long term Maasai Mama beading partner. The purpose of our East African Marketplace is to invest in the talent of artisans and to trade in partnership with micro businesses throughout East Africa.
