Viva Coffee is a project run by Immanuel (Manu), the manager of Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee.
Manu began this project in 2022 after discovering 315 farmers in the Nyamasheke region without access to a co-operative or washing station. He brought the small-holder famers together to create Viva Coffee and began processing and exporting the coffee.
Terrain in the region is rugged and mountainous. However, the volcanic soil, tropical rainfall and high elevation provide exceptional growing conditions.
The farms and washing station are located in the Western Provence in the Nyamesheke district, which borders the Democratic Republic of congo and also the Nyungwe National Park.
