Everywhere you go in East Africa, you will see Kangas/Leso - a brightly coloured, rectangle of printed fabric with a Swahili saying. They are a vibrant part of daily life, used to carry babies, and layered as clothing. A Kanga carries great significance, as it marks the rhythm of Swahili life even from birth.
This Kanga has been produced in Tanzania from East African produced cotton. It has been directly traded in partnership with our own small business in Dar es Salaam. The blanket has been backed with a natural undyed, beautifully thick and soft bamboo and organic cotton fleece fabric. It has organic bamboo batting inside so the blanket is a luscious three layers thick. It features handmade organic cotton tassels, and has been top stitched.
Please note colours may appear differently in photographs than on actual item. Due to the nature of this item it can contain small misprints and small weaving faults
Kanga blanket dimensions:
63 inches (160cm) long
42 inches (107cm) wide
Care Instructions: due to the nature of the delicate fabrics we recommend gentle cold machine, dry flat and warm iron.
Designed, ethically sourced & handmade in Melbourne's West with a global story woven into the fibres and fabrics.
