Everywhere you go in East Africa, you will see Kangas/Leso – a brightly coloured, rectangle of printed fabric with a Swahili saying. They are a vibrant part of daily life, used to carry babies, and layered as clothing. A Kanga carries great significance, as it marks the rhythm of Swahili life even from birth.
This Kanga has been produced in Mombasa, Kenya from East African produced cotton, and was purchased directly in Kenya during recent travels. The blanket has been backed with super soft minky fleecel. It features handmade cotton tassels, and has been top stitched.
