Everywhere you go in East Africa, you will see Khangas/Leso - a brightly coloured, rectangle of printed fabric with a Swahili saying. They are a vibrant part of daily life, used to carry babies, and layered as clothing. A Khanga carries great significance, as it marks the rhythm of Swahili life even from birth.

This Khanga has been made in Tanzania, and is ethically sourced, and directly traded from our sister store in Dar es Salaam Tanzania. The edges have been overlocked and it can be used this way - for a wrap, as a sarong, scarf, as a baby carrier or around the home as a play mat, a table cloth or as a decorative piece in your home . It can also be cut and remade into clothing, a cushion cover, bedding and bags.

The Khanga is cotton and has not yet been washed, and we recommend you wash it alone in cold water before using it.

Please note there are limited quantities of each Khanga. Please note colours may appear differently in photographs than on actual item. Due to the nature of this item it can contain small misprints and small weaving faults.

This listing is for one Urafiki Khanga, not a pair.

Khanga dimensions:
65 inches (160cm) long
45 inches (115cm) wide

Care Instructions: cold wash on its own before use, line dry and warm iron.
