East African khangas are incredibly distinct, featuring combinations of vibrant colours carrying striking patterned borders and a Swahili proverb.
Our collection of Mombasa khanga come from the textile markets in Mombasa, on the coast of Kenya. Our fabric collection is directly traded from our partner store in Uhuru street, Dar es Salaam. By establishing a store in Dar es Salaam, we are not only an export company but we have created sustainable employment and training opportunities for a local team.

Care instructions: as this is a cotton fabric we encourage you to wear it all the time but to give it minimal washing. Wash in cold on a gentle cycle on its own, and dry inside out away from direct sunlight. Warm iron. Fabric will soften with wash and wear. As our fabric has been traded across the globe and passed through many hands, it may contain small printing inconsistencies and small faults from production handling.
As we believe in ethical, slow and sustainable fashion we know that online shopping is not the easiest way to choose clothing. If you decide your clothing is not a good fit or the right style or fabric for you, we accept returns for shirts in as-new, unworn and unwashed condition. Please just contact us to arrange a return.
