This incredibly beautiful batik fabric is handprinted and hand dyed and bought directly from the women who designed and made it, on the coast in Tanga, Northern Tanzania, East Africa.
This premium cotton batiki fabric is 3.5m long and 1.15m wide.
This batiki fabric has been directly and ethically traded through our sister fabric store in Tanzania this year. Your purchase of this fabric supports artisans, women in business and our team in Tanzania.
Care instructions:
Small amounts of wax still remain on the fabric. We recommend you wash alone in cold water with 1/4 cup salt to help set the colours. Line dry. Warm iron with batiki pressed between two cotton fabrics to assist in the absorption of excess wax.
Please note: due to the handmade nature of the batik, fabric may contain small inconsistencies and small fabric faults. We have attempted to capture the true colour of the fabric, but it may appear different on your computer screen.
