If you have spent any time on the African Continent, it's likely you would have admired local Women dressed in custom made, stunning batiki outfits. East African produced batiki is incredibly distinct, featuring combinations of vibrant colours carrying striking patterns. Every design is unique as they are hand printed, and each colour is hand mixed and fabrics are overdyed multiple times to create unique colour mixes. This batiki has been produced in an incredible outdoor kitchen, heated and mixed in barrels over fires, and is made with beautifully fine cotton fabric and dyes sourced from the DR Congo.

Our collection of Batiki has been hand made by the team from Adeline Batiki, working in Iringa, regional Tanzania. We are passionate about purchasing our fabrics directly, and about choosing intricate designs that stand out in the crowd. Each fabric is one of a kind, and it is a handmade piece of fabric art. We are passionate about supporting and investing in women owned businesses, and we are committed to long term partnerships working together. We also stock this Batiki in our sister fabric store in Dar es Salaam, and on our global marketplace.

This blanket has been backed in super soft Italian felted wool.  Batiki blankets also feature handmade cotton tassels.

Batiki dimensions:
66 inches (168cm) long
45 inches (115cm) wide

Care Instructions: due to the nature of the delicate fabrics we recommend dry clean only, hand wash or gentle machine wash.

Thank you for choosing to shop small, and for investing in talented artisans producing handmade slow fabrics and small businesses in East Africa with us. Each ethically handmade item from East of Africa is produced as slow and sustainable homewares in our studio in Western Melbourne Australia.

Please note colours may appear differently in photographs than on actual item. Due to the nature of this item it can contain small holes as it has been handmade and small weaving faults.
