If you have spent any time on the African Continent, it's likely you would have admired local Men and Women dressed in custom made, stunning African fabric outfits. African fabrics - known as Ankara, African Wax Print, Chitenge, Vitenge or Kitenge - is incredibly distinct, featuring combinations of vibrant colours carrying striking patterns.
Our collection of African fabrics are traded in partnership with our fabric store in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. We are passionate about purchasing our fabrics directly, and about choosing intricate designs that stand out in the crowd. We buy all our fabrics in small volumes, so we make only one or two pieces of clothing from each fabric design. By establishing a store in Dar es Salaam, we are not only an export company but we have created sustainable employment and training opportunities for a local team.
This print is known by many names, including Water Well - a name given to it in Ghana. The name references the ripple effect that you see when you throw a stone into a body of water — a reminder that every action you take will have an effect on the people around you.

CARE
As this is a cotton fabric we encourage you to wear it all the time but to give it minimal washing. Wash in cold on a gentle cycle on its own, and dry inside out away from direct sunlight. Warm iron. African Wax Print will soften with wash and wear. As our fabric has been traded across the globe and passed through many hands, it may contain small printing inconsistencies and small faults from production handling.
SLOW FASHION - POLE POLE

If you decide your Men's shirt is not a good fit or the right style or fabric for you, we accept returns for shirts in as-new, unworn and unwashed condition. Please just contact us to arrange a return.
